For the summer, I went away to intern at an orphanage, for seven weeks! This was my second time going to Belize, and out of the country for that matter.
Ever since Isaac went and worked as an intern there, I had dreamt of doing the same thing, and actually did do it! Woot!
So here are some pictures of the best parts of my trip!
At first this picture brings back sad memories of me crying in the airport contemplating turning around, but at a second glance this picture brings back feelings of excitementbecause I was about to embark on a super exciting adventure!
I love this kid! Hahaha he was so full of character. this is one of the kids who lived on the same property while I stayed in Belize.
I Love afros!!!
This was just a great moment! One of the girls and I shared a bowl of Top Ramen soup!
This moment was super precious to me... I was walking to the main house on the property and when I looked up I saw the kids playing on the basket ball court and dragon flies flying everywhere. Definitely a moment I wont forget.
This is just a cool one because where I stayed they ate eggs that were layed by the chickens they owned! This was really fun for me because I've only had store bought eggs my whole life!
This is Elijah! He is a wild boy! haha this picture perfectly describes him! He literally grew up in the jungle, and because of that you can find him doing things like playing in the mud fully clothed!
Me driving! I would say if you ever plan on visiting Belize let someone who can handle ditch filled roads, and no speed limits drive. Haha it can get a little crazy.
Flowers bank is the village I stayed in! I would not recommend staying here if you are looking for a vacation. BUT if you are looking to immerse yourself in the Belizean culture I would very much so recommend visiting the villages! If you want to visit a village I would say go to Flowers bank! its not on the maps, so you will have to go to the Black Orchid, and ask someone to direct you to Flowers Bank Road! Go to the very end of this road, soak all of the culture in while driving down this road, and find this monument! There is a beautiful view of a river behind it!
San Pedro! Now this is where you go if you are looking to vacation! While I was there I got a day off and visited this Caribbean island! It is super pretty, yet still on the cheaper side of tourism in Belize! While I was here I got a full body massage for a half an hour right on the beach for 20$! It was awesome!
This is just a pretty view from the street to the beach! It was just lovely!
Belize is one of those places that you must be open minded in order to go there. It gets very humid, has crazy animals, lots of mosquitoes, and can be dangerous! So if your looking for total relaxation, I'm not sure your gonna find it here! But if your looking for adventure, you'll find plenty of that!
I'll be doing a post soon on some of the Prettiest spots in Belize, and what kinds of things you can do in Belize!
